Designers
Atsuyo et Akiko
New York-based Atsuyo Yang and Akiko Mukae together are Atsuyo et Akiko and they are bringing a fresh approach to fashion accessory design.
The pair shares an affinity for screenprinting and look to add illustration to ordinary, everyday items that appear to tell a story.
Atsuyo designed shoes in Japan after completing a fashion design degree. She spent two years in Tokyo and Milan studying pattern making and sketching. She moved to New York in the late 1990s and was working for handbag designer Tocca when she met Akiko who was working for revered Japanese artist Amano in a Soho studio. Akiko’s career in art also began in Japan where she studied painting and printmaking. She has extensive experience in printmaking that spans the past 14 years.
Together, they are combining the best of their respective experiences and talent to bring their own world of imagination and storytelling to life through art expressed through fashion accessories.
Joah Love
JOAH LOVE
Joah Love designers Joy Marie and Ahyoung Kim met at a fashion shoot back in 2000 where Joy was employed as the photographer and Ahyoung was the designer. It was a case of friendship at first sight for the pair. California-based, they believe fashion should never have to sacrifice for comfort, and comfort should never have to sacrifice for style.
The Joah Love philosophy is to design cutting-edge clothing that is comfy for the little ones and easy for the parents. Their fabrics are buttery soft and treated with extra love to make them even yummier. The Joah Love vision is to create timeless designs while joining forces with philanthropic organisations to support the fight against human injustice around the world. Their partnership with OmniPeace is proof of this vision being fulfilled.
Joah Love is carried in hundreds of boutiques across the United States as well as in Canada, Puerto Rico, Japan and now also in Australia via Le Tween.
Little Mouse Brown
Little Mouse Brown is a modern vintage range of clothing for Tweens (children aged 8-12 years, in sizes 8-14). The award-winning Brisbane fashion designer behind the label noticed a substantial hole in the market for stylish, timeless and comfortable clothing for children in this age group while shopping for her very own Tween kids, and decided in 2010 to do something about it. Little Mouse Brown was born.
Little Mouse Brown finds design inspiration in the international fashion markets, especially New York and Paris, and looks back on ‘the good old days’ to come up with the vintage flavour.
“I think Tweens are more fashion-conscious these days,” Little Mouse Brown designer Renee says. “They see their bigger siblings getting dressed up and want to do the same. They are online and aware of trends and are following what their celebrity favourites are wearing. They want to look good and feel special too.”
Renee will be remembered as one half of the successful Arsparella fashion label, alongside fellow NRL football ‘WAG’ Tara Sailor. The pair formed Arsparella in 2003 with a view to producing stylish and comfortable womenswear. They went on to win RAQ Fashion Design Awards (Lifestyle category, 2003, 2004) in their first two years of production.
Little Mouse Brown - Basics
Little Mouse Brown has added a range of basic pieces made from Cotton Spandex to mix and match and layer with mainline pieces. Unisex jeans , leggings , unisex short sleeve and long sleeve tees, cardis and lounge wear are all on offer. The fabric is soft, comfortable and washes well.
Mini and Maximus
Mini & Maximus think kids are super cool and whimsical and funny. And they are awed and inspired by kids’ ceaseless originality, courage and exuberance. Their aim is to bring their customers new, fashion-forward products that are innovative and unique, but still appeal to a broad spectrum of sensibilities.
Each season, Mini & Maximus collaborate with different artists, big and small, who contribute exclusive and original ideas to the label, presenting customers with a specific and individual artistic approach. The art is printed on signature Mini & Maximus tees as well as hand-screened limited edition posters.
Mini & Maximus’s goal is also to make the most earth-conscious decisions whenever possible. They like the challenge of finding natural alternatives to things that are not so nice to our environment. They want to strive to make something that you can feel safe giving to your children. The clothing is made from a super soft bamboo/cotton blend and pieces are screen printed with water-soluble ink. Bamboo is naturally antibacterial and hypoallergenic and is grown without the use of chemicals or pesticides so you know you are treating your children to the best.

Soft Gallery
SOFT GALLERY
The Soft Gallery signature is characterised by expressive graphic artwork and beautiful embroidery. A Danish fashion brand, Soft Gallery has, for their A/W11 women's and children's collection, drawn on inspiration from one of the most influential theatre companies of the 20th century: The Ballets Russes.
The Ballets Russes was renowned partly because of its groundbreaking artistic collaboration among contemporary choreographers, composers, artists, and dancers. Their Avant-Garde costumes were designed by Worth and have been celebrated as a unique example of the magic that may flourish when design and art is successfully merged.
"We feel strongly connected to the artistic and cross-disciplinary way of working. This is very much the essence of the Soft Gallery universe,” says designer and fashion photographer Barbara Hvidt who, together with designer Tine Holt Moller, founded the label in 2007.
